The 5 things I had to claim to become an epic coach

If you feel called to inspire and empower others, there are 5 key qualities you’ll need to claim.

Over the years I’ve called myself a healer, mentor, coach & teacher but beyond the titles, at the heart of my work with other women, there are 5 key qualities I had to learn & re-learn to do amazing work with women.

These qualities are a beautiful invitation to check where you are at in your own personal embodiment as a coach or space holder for others. But know, that no woman does this alone. I’ll be the first to disclose – I had help in navigating each and every one of these qualities!

Many of the teachers & mentors I’ve worked with over the years have been critical in supporting me to identify, activate & claim these qualities. So too have my students, my peers, and my own teachings.

So let’s explore the 5 things I had to claim to become an epic coach

1. I AM A POWERFUL WOMAN

I used to feel unsure in offering myself to the world. Questions like:
+ Does this really work?
+ Do I even know what I’m doing?
+ How can I take them deeper?
Were regularly on my mind.

And it showed.
From my own place of timid, unsure disbelief, it was really challenging to hold my POWER. And so (not surprisingly) my clients had trouble holding their POWER too.

Power of the feminine kind is the life-affirming YES to the true nature of who and what you are.
It’s a bone-deep claiming of all of YOURSELF.

As coaches & women working with women, power is perhaps our #1 resource because, without it, we find ourselves without a ‘yes to life’.

But power isn’t something you can just tell someone to do.
Power doesn’t have a magical 3-step-fit-it, and it looks and feels different in every woman body.

Which means as coaches, we have to show our client what embodied power looks like.
We have to be that woman.
And from our own rock solid power, we have to hold her as powerful too.

The woman holds herself as powerful & creates a field of embodied power for others to tap into & activate from.

I believe it’s the greatest gift you can share with your clients.
And it’s not necessarily something you do. Or say.
Rather it’s something you are.

As our client steps into the field of a woman who IS her power, it becomes easier for her to find that within herself.

Do you hold yourself as powerful?

2. I STAND FOR THE SACREDNESS OF SENSATION

When we are dealing with the internal land of transformation, the invisible real of emotions or the nebulous intangible wisdom of the body – it’s kind of hard to figure out what you’re doing and what you’re about.

For years I had trouble understanding what it is that I did or what I taught. In retrospect I can see I was doing “feminine embodiment,” before I even knew what it was.

The good news is that many other women – before and after me – are feeling the calling to this body-based way of working.

We are in the age of true, balanced feminine power returning to the word, and this power needs midwives.

These midwives are the women who claim the sacredness of our sensations.
Rather than transcending the body because of its shadow and sin.

In this way, feminine power, purpose & pleasure have become one of the fastest growing industries in the world, and those of us who resonate with working through portals like….
+ Emotional Embodiment
+ Sensual Embodiment or
+ Magnetic Embodiment

Have a wealth of activated women, worldwide looking for empowered practitioners to support them.

3. I DON’T HAVE TO PROSTITUTE MYSELF, FOR THE WORK TO BE OF WORTH

Early on in my business, I was offering 1-on-1 sessions and small group coaching programs. But I felt unsure of my coaching skills. All the frameworks I’d learned to date didn’t really address how to deeply work with women in a body-centered way.

Because I was unsure of the work I was offering, I was unsure of myself – so deep down somewhere inside me I decided that I needed to give myself, in order for this work to be liked.

I went out of my way to make sure my clients liked me. I over-gave. I stretched my own boundaries. I took it all far too personally.

This energy of over giving, worrying if people are going to like you, feeling you have to go over and above is all too common for women in the early stages of offering your work.

We over-give to be liked.
We over-give to compensate for the lack of conviction within ourselves.

But people don’t have to love you, in order to love the work you do in the world.
In fact, over-giving and not holding strong boundaries is actually of great dis-service to your clients because it diminishes their ability to hold strong boundaries.

This is why feeling deeply confident & competent in the world that you do, and finding feminine frameworks that allow who YOU truly are, are so critical for women working the embodied way.

4. I AM IMPERFECT

The old paradigm of perfect-teachers creating perfect-students is long dead.

Championing the imperfections, vulnerability and human-ness that we ARE is the role of the new leader & coach.

Just consider this – do you find sweet relief, encouragement & inspiration in some of the stories that I share about my experiences of screwing things up? Many women do.

Which is so beautiful. I don’t share about myself because I want to talk about me. I share because my imperfections are a beautiful lens to teach through – I claim them fully, I have no shame in sharing them.

This is the sweet relief & the job of the new feminine way. We are allowed to
+ Sometimes get it wrong
+ Not have the answers
+ Still be on the journey of discovery

And we must. But that often means we have to jump before we are ready

5. I’LL STEP IN BEFORE I AM READY

Many, many times in my work I’ve jumped in before I was truly ready. And I believe this a CRITICAL thing to claim for every woman.

So many of us are waiting for the right time, for the universe to show us the way.
But that waiting is more often than not, just delaying.

Delaying saying yes to our desires.
Delaying taking a step in the direction of our dreams.

It’s okay to say YES to your desire, and still feel not quite ready.
The very act of saying YES is green-light the universe needs to start conspiring with you.

My clients share this with me all the time. Particularly as they join us in the Feminine Embodiment Coaching Certification.

As they say YES, before they have even begun the program their YES begins to catalyze so much new energy, creativity and inspiration flooding their system.

Their YES has tapped them into the potential that was waiting there all along.

We each have this potential. And it’s up to us when we step in and say YES to this potential.

I’d love to hear from you. Which of the 5 qualities you’re currently exploring?
