How to discover passion & purpose: walking your soul aligned path

Image: Cane farmer’s daughter turned pharmacist turned embodiment mentor (who would have thought?!)

“If I knew where to put my energy, and what I wanted to do I’m sure I would be successful. It’s just that…. I don’t know what I want.”

It’s the story that cripples us. Our heart is alive with possibilities and the potential within has awoken.

Yet we can’t find that “thing” that “job” or “purpose” to put ourselves into.

We know that, once it arrives – all our problems will be solved.
We know that, once we figure out what “it” is – the next steps will be much clearer.

So many of us are in limbo.
Waiting to figure out what our passion & purpose is.
Feeling frustrated while we wait.

Except there is one critical flaw with this way of operating…

It assumes that in order to live passion & purpose in – you have to explicitly know what it is.

This critical flaw expects that in order to be magnetic, and manifest – you have to have a crystal clear goal in mind.

And it’s just not true.

This December I’ve been writing a plan. It’s the first time in the history of my business and life that I’ve actually looked to the 12 months ahead and consciously know what my year will hold.

I’ve been planning…
Business & what I desire to offer the world
Life & what I want to experience
Relationships & what we are ready to create, together
Travel & where I want to be

These plans are not set in stone. Like all good plans there is room for flexibility. But it’s a plan none-the-less, and the very first one I’ve ever had.

The truth is up until now I’ve been winging it. Since 2012 when I first decided to quit my job & create something different … I’ve been making it up as I go along.

I’ve had absolutely no clue what I was doing.
How I was going to do it.
Or if it would work.

I was a cane farmers daughter, turned pharmacist, turned seeker, turned kinesiologist, turned embodiment mentor. Who could have predicted that?!

But one very, very important thing has made this whole experience of “the unknown” very safe, productive & pleasurable – following my soul alignment.

Soul alignment is a nebulous, sometimes hard to define or follow compass that is navigating us in the direction of our destiny.

Many of us expect that one day we will magically stumble onto this path of soul alignment and then our passions & purpose will begin. We’ll start doing that thing or working in that way that is our final destiny.

My experience is that it rarely (almost NEVER) works that way.

I’ve come to see that passion & purpose begin with taking small steps on our soul aligned path.

Navigating our way slowly, gently through the mess of the jungle, searching for the path.

We walk slowly at first. Stumbling often. Not always feeling safe. And sometimes we get lost.

But always – always – the soul aligned path is there. Omnipresent. Ready to welcome our presence & guide us forward.

Through my (literal) years of treading my soul aligned path, and helping hundreds of women to do the same, I’ve come to see we can find the path with more ease when we….

#1 Tell the radical truth

The woman who moves forward with most ease & grace is the woman willing to tell herself the radical truth.

She’s the woman ready to admit:

  • I am no longer willing to settle
  • Despite ticking all the boxes, this doesn’t light me up
  • I am not willing to do this anymore

As the woman who had spent over $30K on Kinesiology qualifications I was terrified to throw it out the door & take the wild leap into my own Embodiment Teachings. But the truth was Kinesiology didn’t light me up. It’s wasn’t my soul alignment.

It was hard truth to tell, but it liberated me to take the next step into deeper purpose & passion.

The radical truth has to be told.

#2 Forcing and working hard won’t get you there sooner

Many of us tackle the ‘issue’ of our purpose like a woman possessed, only to quickly find out it’s a near-impossible equation to solve.

It’s easy to try and force something to fit. But working hard isn’t the energy that is required.

Your path will be created with the energy you bring to it – and when you bring hard work, you create more hard work.

I’ve been suckered into this “working hard mentality” too many times to count! My body (and genetics) whisper “just get through this bit and then you can rest” or “just sort this out and then you’ll feel better” but the truth is that my soul alignment is not about working hard – it’s about creation with pleasure. I know this because soul alignment is a way you feel.

#3 Soul alignment is a way you feel

When I’m working hard, struggling or forcing I know I’m not on the path. It feels hard, exhausting & devoid of pleasure. This is not how I desire to feel.

Alignment is an exquisitely sensitive state of FEELING within yourself.

Begin by asking yourself “how does that decision feel?”
Instead of asking yourself “what do I think about this?”

For many of us, our heart & wombs are numb after years and lifetimes of being shut down and our capacity to feel our way forward is diminished. The only way to begin navigating soul alignment is to re-sensitise to our feelings – and embody then.

#4 Stop trying to “get there”

The destination isn’t your purpose – it’s the person you become along the journey that is your purpose.

When you get there, you’ll be dead.

I’m still not “there,” I’m still on the path, I think I will be discovering and adventuring and exploring until my last breath – it’s the way of the awakened woman.

Marketing and society sell us this picture of “getting there” – it’s rubbish. You are perfect in your exploration and your journey, we all are.

Magnetic women are not magnetic because they are 100% sure exactly where they are going.

Magnetic women are magnetic because they are using their own primal feminine essence to open the way for more soul alignment, receiving the path one step at a time.

If you are ready to navigate your way forward with more embodied purpose & magnetic ease then I would love you to join me in the new year for a LIVE SHE IS MAGNETIC 2-DAY EVENT.
