Why you can’t understand how you feel: Embracing chaos

Have you ever felt that you just don’t understand what’s going on with you?

Perhaps you feel off, frustrated, flat – but there’s “no good reason why”.

Your brain is obsessively demanding reason, a WHY to explain these feelings…

Was it something you ate? Something she said?
Mercury retrograde? Or something deeper?

Try as you might to understand this way you’re feeling – the WHY keeps alluding you.

You have 2 options:
1. To keep feeling off, frustrated, flat & obsessively searching for the WHY to fix or
2. To embrace the chaotic, uncomfortable unknown that’s flowing inside you

In this head-based world, we live in most of us (unconsciously) choose option #1. Just last week I was feeling off & I couldn’t figure out why. My head went into overdrive, obsessively analyzing anything & everything looking for reasoning. I opened my diary and began listing all the possible reasons I was feeling this way, so that I could understand logically what was going on.

It’s reasonable to want to know why you feel the way you feel.

But if the body, which is the temple of our feelings, emotions & deep knowing, isn’t ready to make that information known to you. Then the only way to greater clarity is down & in.

What I mean by that is embracing the chaotic, uncomfortable, unknown feelings of off, flat, frustrated. Following the thread of sensation from the surface of your confusion and angst, deep into its heart – which lives in your body.

This chaos is a GIFT.

Chaos is not a weakness. It’s not a burden to carry.

It is freedom. Freedom to ride the currents of living in wild & unexpected ways.

It is power. Power to transcend the dogmatic ideas of our mind, and bring all of our resources including our body and her chaos, to the decision-making table in life.
