Following that feeling: Why sensations are signposts to your most aligned state

Having a tender sensitive heart can be hard work. It feels so much. And in all the feeling, a lot of confusion can arise. 

Whether we realize it or not, ALL women have an inner guidance system which is accurate 100% of the time – our feelings, our sensations are signposts into greater alignment.

That time your heart exploded with excitement and you had to say YES.
That time you had a feeling of dread in your gut and you knew it wasn’t going to work.
That time you had a niggly feeling, but went ahead anyway (and it turned out like crap).

Every sensation we experience is a sign from our soul and an opportunity to step into great alignment within ourselves.


Yet many of us have never been taught to navigate this nebulous world of energies & emotions in a way that can clear the path to moving forward, with more ease.

Perhaps we cant feel our feelings from years of being numb & closing down our bodies & heart.
Perhaps we are feeling them so intensely & uncontrollably they begin to rule us & we fear their presence.
Perhaps we are such a sensitive heart that through all the emotion we can’t make sense of what’s really going on & we just feel blocked & stuck.


In my practice as an Embodiment Mentor & Teacher one thing has become abundantly clear:

Most women don’t know how to use their own body’s sensations as the intuitive guidance system it truly is.

Truly it’s not our fault. We’ve all been raised in a culture that values productivity over pleasure and thoughts over feelings.

Just think. How often do you hear “what do you think about that?” and “my thoughts on the topic are” or “I am thinking.”? 

I’ll wager a large amount that is 100,000% more than you hear comments like “how do you feel about that” and “what are you feeling?


With my family I’ve become notorious as the one to ALWAYS ask “how does that feel?” It’s so usual for my loved ones that it’s almost become a joke. Except it isn’t.

Consciously viewing feels as JUST AS IMPORTANT as thoughts is the only way for our culture to embrace more of the feminine.

The feminine is the deeper feeler & experiencer of life.

As incantations of the feminine it’s our responsibility as women to strengthen our feeling muscles, and to guide others to do the same.


Enter the feminine spirituality practice of embodiment. Literally the art of getting out of your head, and into your body.

Within the body our soul is interfacing, through our central nervous system (spinal cord & brain) into our nerves, creating sensations & feelings that from a scientific view point “don’t exist.”

But of course, sensations – they exist.

These nebulous sensations & feelings are arguable a commodity of THE GREATEST VALUE for the awake and aware women.

They are the way we navigate our way forward. They are the way we make soul-aligned decisions. They are the way we liberate old/out-dated beliefs and ways of operating that no longer serve. They are the way we experience the DEPTH and full emotional bandwidth of our lives.


So how do we follow our feelings, as signs from our soul, to navigate our way forward into more aligned decisions & a more easeful, purposeful life?

The answer is simple.
Tune in.
Tune in to what you are feeling.
Tune in to the sensations your soul is whispering to you at every turn.
Tune in.

Coincidentally this is also the path to being turned on.

A natural side effect of bringing more awareness into your body are the beautiful sensations you begin to notice – as that fabric brushes your skin, as that oil fills the room with its heavenly scent – you can’t help but notice your sensations more, which is the path to greater sensuality.
